Irene's Arete
Irene's Arete from Garnet Canyon.
It's been a great summer here in the Tetons. I have gotten on some of the best climbs that the park has to offer and last week's climb was no exception. Irene's Arete has been on my list of things to do for a while and it definitely lived up to it's reputation. The approach was relatively short, the rock quality was awesome and the descent down the lake ledges on Disappointment Peak was quick and easy. It's starting to get a little colder here in Jackson, but were going to try to get a little more climbing in before the first big snow. Stay tuned.
Will about to lead the exposed second pitch.
Me on the third pitch, 5.9 variation.
Me with Cloudveil Dome, South Teton, and Middle Teton.
Finally... the shoes come off!
